Posted November 19, 2018 09:25:48 We’ve all been there.

You’ve just spent hours searching for something, only to come across an item that isn’t what you expected.

We’re all guilty of this.

Or maybe we’ve been guilty of it too.

We’ve found a good deal on something, but not what we expected.

Here’s how we avoided the pain of buying that expensive new set of shoes or a new dress.

1.

Be selective.

There’s no point spending hundreds on clothes you didn’t really need, or buying an item you didn´t actually need.

Just be selective.

This doesn’t mean shopping online or from the comfort of your couch.

Instead, make sure you shop in person and try on the items you’re looking for before you commit to them.

2.

Don’t be afraid to get creative.

A good store has a creative department.

Whether it’s the creative team, the design team or even the team behind the store, all of these people can help you with creative ideas and solutions to your problems.

3.

Shop in person.

Shop online.

If you can find a good store that has an online store, you can try and shop in-person and see if you can spot the best deals.

If not, you’ll probably end up paying more for something that’s a little more expensive online.

4.

Be sure to ask questions.

Ask around.

Ask people you don’t know about their experience with a store.

Be a bit patient and ask the people at the front counter.

They may have already been through a similar experience, or maybe you’re just looking for a quick buy.

And most importantly, make yourself feel welcome.

If someone has the most amazing shopping experience, you won’t be disappointed.

They will be delighted to tell you about their great experience and their friends and family will be happy to help.

This is one of the greatest gifts we can give to people.
